Marketing Leadership & Fractional Advisory
Embedded senior marketing leadership for growing consumer brands. We plan the work, direct the team, and sit alongside you on the decisions that move the business.
Who this is for
You don't need a CMO yet. You need a marketing leader you can call.
The gap between "we should have someone senior running marketing" and "we can actually afford a senior marketing hire" is where most growing consumer brands stall. The work that needs senior thinking gets pushed to a junior team member, an outside agency that doesn't know the business, or no one at all.
Fractional marketing leadership closes that gap. We embed in the business. We plan the marketing. We direct the team you already have and the vendors you're already paying. We sit in the room for the decisions that move revenue.
If marketing feels like a series of disconnected tactics that no one is steering, that's the gap we fill.
What this engagement is
The retainer covers leadership. When the business needs brand work, a website, an SEO build, or a campaign, we can take that on too. It runs alongside the retainer as project work, with its own scope and timeline. One team, one point of contact, and the right shape of engagement for each piece of the work.
Senior marketing leadership,
at the size your business actually needs.
A typical month
Every business is different. The anchor points stay consistent. What happens between them shifts with what the business actually needs that month.
01
Start of month
A working session to set priorities for the month, review the quarter, and align on what matters now.
02
Mid-month
Briefing, reviewing, and steering the work in motion. Bi-weekly call. Async between.
03
Throughout
Available for the calls and questions that need a senior answer in real time.
04
End of month
What worked, what didn't, what we change next month. Brief written summary, no theater.
Worth a conversation?
A 30-minute call is usually enough to know if fractional leadership is the right shape for where the business is now.
Book a callWho we serve
Fractional leadership fits best at a specific moment in a business. When the work has grown past the founder's bandwidth, but the budget hasn't grown into a full senior hire. The categories we see this most:
Wellness
Brands juggling multiple channels, ambassador programs, and content cadences without a single owner steering the whole picture.
Lifestyle
Founder-led brands where the founder is still in every marketing decision, and the business needs a partner who can carry that weight.
CPG & Retail
Brands moving from DTC into retail, or scaling across channels, where the marketing leadership hasn't caught up with the operational growth.
Regulated
Operationally complex brands where channel restrictions, compliance, and multi-state execution demand a marketing lead who has navigated that terrain before.
Common questions
A working session at the start of the month to set priorities. A bi-weekly call to direct work in motion. Async availability throughout for the decisions that need a senior answer. A brief written review at the end of the month covering what worked, what didn't, and what changes next. The rhythm is consistent. The content shifts with what the business needs.
For leadership work, yes. The hours buy you direction, planning, and oversight, not execution. Strategy and decision-making compress well into focused time when the rest of the team is handling the day-to-day. If your business needs more than direction, we can scope the additional work as a separate project alongside the retainer.
A full-time marketing director is in the building every day, owns execution as much as strategy, and costs $150,000 to $250,000 plus benefits. Fractional leadership gives you the senior thinking and direction at a fraction of the cost, with the trade-off that we aren't on the ground for daily execution. For most growing consumer brands at this stage, the strategic gap is the real one. The execution is happening already, it just needs steering.
We scope it separately. Brand work, website work, SEO, campaign creative, all of that can be added as a project running alongside the retainer. Keeping the retainer focused on leadership is what keeps the work senior and the engagement clean for both sides.
Three months to start, then month-to-month with 30 days' notice. The three months exist because real strategic work takes a quarter to show its shape. After that, the engagement continues for as long as it's serving the business, and either side can step out with a month's notice. We check in openly along the way so the conversation about fit is always ongoing, never a surprise.
Usually within two weeks of a signed agreement. We use the first two weeks to onboard properly, review the current state, and meet the team. Real planning starts in month one. Real momentum tends to land somewhere in month two.
